Yes! You have to be your own best advocate. I am so sorry to tell you. The learning curve is tough -- especially because your brain is going crazy with the fresh diagnosis. You have to make the calls. Unless you have someone that will do it for you. I did not have anyone to do it for me. Lots of support and love, just no one to get the info. Besides, I wanted to hear it first hand. I had insurance issues, and all kinds of other things happening. As a 10+ year survivor, looking back, I realize that it was a good thing to do all that work for myself.
It is okay to be frustrated, come here, vent, and get good advice and see what the others have had to go through to get great care!
