Thanks, Cheryl, for posting this. I remember 5 years ago I was bald and had finished chemo and 2 surgeries and was starting radiation on 12/27 to be followed by Herceptin. I got through it by staying in the moment and learning not to look too far ahead. One day during the Christmas season, when I felt a little down, I put on my wig, asked 5 friends over, and threw a small Christmas party. Nothing big. Just friends talking, snacking, laughing, and playing charades and Pictionary in my small one-bedroom apartment. We had a ball and they didn't leave until 3:00 AM. I felt lucky then to have had friends to ask over, and even luckier now that I'm well and on my way to the gym in 5 minutes. So for anyone who is struggling through treatment, know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and if that gets hard to see, light your way halfway down the tunnel with friends who love you, and that will keep you going.
Hugs & prayers to you all,
