I had a bilateral mastectomy on March 7, 2012 followed by chemotherapy. I did not have radiation. I put off getting the expanders expanded (saline injections) until after my chemo was finished because I could not deal with both at the same time. Besides, I was in no hurry. So after chemo I finished the process and did not get the implants until about September or October (my memory fails me...I am an old woman LOL). I still have some pain on the left side where I had the cancer and also the lymph nodes removed. I do not have terrible chest pain. Mine is more like a constant, nagging ache. However, after I read your post I was interested in your rib cramping because I DO have that! I never associated it with the surgery or implants but now I am wondering about that since you have it too. I get rib cramps so bad they take my breath away. I put a heating pad on my ribs for awhile and it seems to subside. It would be very interesting to find that the cramps are caused by the implants. I wouldn't do anything about it at this point but it would be good to know.
