Saw this on the news today. What makes me completely insane is that I have never, ever heard one damn thing mentioned about women doing self exams. Never! Even during the whole ridiculous pink month. Yes, yes, yes, mammos are important, extremely important, but how many times (myself included 6 months after a mammo) have women found their own BC?
45 is simply silly. ALL the more reason we must absolutely get the word out about self examinations. I think I've already mentioned here in July that during my last mammo, not one word was said by the technician about 'be sure to do self exams'. I was livid when I left, and she knew it. So did everyone at the front desk, and so did the administration, and my GYN who sits on the board of the breast center.
Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies rule. Nothing else to say.
