M--welcome to the site! Finding a lump is finding a lump--the fear, the waiting, the watching--its the same whether it is benign or not.
You also know there is family history and you are being vigilant about following up on things. That's a good thing.
You are young and we youngsters (I'm 33) often have dense and changing breast tissue--makes us prone to feeling more things, as well as making standard mammos more difficult.
The hormone question is definitely one to address w/ all your Dr's.
Whatever the testing shows--the fabulous people on this site will be here for you I'm sure, just like they were for me over the last 11 months.
