I'd be asking for additional tests like a pet scan or at least a ct to find out if it's spread to other parts of the body. I'm afraid that a 10cm tumor is going to put her at Stage IV regardless of anythng else just due to the size of the tumor. If it hasn't spread to distant sites though it may still be curable. Sometimes with tumors that large, they may want to do chemo first to shrink it then surgery to remove whatever may be left after chemo. Just some things to be thinking about.
What a wonderful friend of a friend you are. She's lucky to have you on her side. Tell her we'll be praying for her and please let us know what happens.
