I know we have lots of very savvy ladies here regarding insurance, etc.
I have a friend whose son has cystic fibrosis. The son is now in his teens and his health insurance is bailing on him. Apparently, stats indicate he's not a good risk (I hate this about insurance, the whole profit margin thing). So my friend is scrambling to find a company that will take a pre-existing condition. I was given at one time to understand if you don't lapse, it's not pre-existing but that might've changed since then.
The son is in Georgia but currently insured through his dad in Mississippi. I would deeply appreciate any help. Right now, this man is, like many of us in Mississippi, getting dropped from any wind coverage on his house insurance and his house insurance rates are sky high, so he's completely overwhelmed with demands from an industry that doesn't care either about him or his son.
Any ideas? He's shopping around and I've given him what I know about the housing industry insurance rates and where to go to get the best deal but health insurance is not my thing except in terms of my work and usually, it's not an issue (either you have it or you don't).
I would appreciate any info, ideas, etc. Thanks a ton. You'll be doing this boy a favor, I promise.
