...some effort on our part and some patients on our partners. I'm not really one to talk since I'm not practicing what I'm preaching here. I was on Tamoxofin till it cause my hysterectomy in 05 and I have zero sex drive but I'm also stage IV and have other issues as well now. Thank the Lord I have a husband who understands me enough to deal with it.
Without those hormones our brains just don't think about it as much and our bodies don't respond to the stimuli it used to or produce the needed lubrication. This is what I've been told will help. First off try to make an effort to think about sex more often, how you use to enjoy it, fantasize a bit maybe. It's also important to get some really good lubricant, nothing with sugar in it and something water based. There was one on here a while back all the girls were raving about.
Your partner is going to have to be very gentle and patient. The saying is true, if you don't use it, you loose it. After a while we can develop atrophy,(just kinda shriveled and drid up) so without proper lubricants and starting off very slow and easy, it's just going to be painful.
Some of the other girls on here will probably be better at explaining this and giving advise but I know it's quiet on the weekends here and didn't want you to think no one was willing to talk about it. There have been dozens of these discussions since I've been on the board (almost two years now). I hope this helps till some of the vets get back and can explain it all better.
Hugs,
Penny
