Ah October.
That is a really nice story, and underneath all the horror of the people who just seem to use cancer in all the wrong ways of self-promotion, there are and were people who cared so passionately that they started entire movements, like pink and october and rebranding both. It is a testament to that passion, that belief that we can change things, that a 20 year old guy will speak up about it and literally wear his feelings on his sleeve.
So, although I'm one of the ones cranky during October's exposure to pink cakes, and pink scales, and pink egg beaters, and avoiding shows like the cited Oz below (and all things Oprah, in fact, during October), I still say hat's off to those who work so hard and passionately to make this thing history...
You know, here's something to hope for... if February is Black History Month, think about the time when October is going to be Cancer IS History Month.
(and I see that Stage 1 clinical trials on the cancer eating virus are being prepared...)
