Roe,
I hear how upset, confused and disappointed you are. Most women with estrogen positive cancer take hormonal therapy for 5 years.
I am very surprised by the low number she gave you for the effect on recurrence. My onc told me that it reduces recurrence by 40%.
Reading all the side effects can be scary but the worst side effects seldom happen and the one's that most women encounter are bearable.
I hope that you will give it a try because it is known to protect you during the 5 years.
I am sending you a hug. You are not alone. Most estrogen positive survivors are taking those pills.
Perhaps it would help if you think of cancer protection rather than a frightening drug.
