Hi Roe,
Sorry to hear that your oncologist is recommending further treatment. It's difficult making decisions like this. It is scary to know all the side effects of the drugs we have to take...especially the future risk of ovarian cancer. I wish there was a crystal ball we could all go to which would provide us the right decision.
Cancer is a scary diagnosis and the decisions we have to make can be overwhelming....everything I have read supports treatments. Sometimes the peace of mind knowing you are doing everything you can to 'not' have it come back can be comforting.
Take some time to decide, do some research, and in the end, I hope you feel comfortable with whatever you decide.
In my circumstance, I am going ahead with the 5-year plan. I am not happy about the possible side-effects, but I am willing to take the risk as the reduction in re-occurrence is much higher for me.
