Trudy,
You need a safe place to recover after your surgery. Can you and your children stay with a friend or relative while you are recovering. If not, I would contact the cancer society for their advice.
If you want to be there for your children you have to treat your cancer. There is no other choice.
I wish you the best and hope for a good outcome and safe recovery.
