Hi Ed,
I am sorry that this time is so difficult for you. I certainly hope that your daughter does not have breast cancer. I was diagnosed with bc about a year and a half ago and my older daughter's doctor found a lump in her breast. She had a mamogram and an ultrasound and visited a surgeon who said he was certain that it was a cyst. She just had another mammogram and apparently has another cyst.
Drs are very careful with young women whose mothers have had cancer.
I think that you are jumping the gun right now and assuming that this is cancer. Many, many women have cysts.
If it should be cancer then she will need you to be calm for her. You can check out the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
But right now I hope that you can assume the best and we will all hope that this is a cyst so common in young women.
