Hi.. I hope there is somebody out there who still remembers me. My wife Marie was diagnosed 7+ years ago...she was been Ok....tomorrow is her yearly mammo, and I always get nervous when she goes in.
But I just got a call from my baby Girl Holly (who is 30) and she told us that she discovered a 2 cm. lump in her breast. The mammo and ultrasound determined she needed a biopsy..although her age suggested that it could be a fibroid tumor, the were "irregular" features and her mother's history are enough to continue with a biopsy..which won't happen until next Friday.
Her mom and I are so upset....we are trying to hold it together...and to think I was worried about tomorrow..I'm doubly worried now.
Some of you may recall that Holly did her Masters thesis on the adjustment of spouses of breast cancer survivores..some of your husbands might have actually participated in the survey...
Anyway I gave Holly this link...but I think she feels to scared right now to post and probably wants to remain optimistic...Optimism is not something I do well.
Is ther still a chance that it could be a non cncerous tumour? I mean I know breast density makes it hard to diagnose...but I didn't like the sound of it..
You were there for me seven years ago please help.
Another thing..I don't know anything about hospitals where she is ..she lives in Bangor Me. anybody have any experience with places up there?
Marie just came in and wants to know if there are any women out there who had breast cancer whose daughter's came down with it?
And say a prayer for Holly that it turns out OK.
God Bless
Ed
