Hello ladies
I came home at 6:00 pm and was totally pooped out from all the "waiting" and porcedures. I am "cooling out" today. I did my MRI at 7:00 am and then went to another building at 53rd St and Third Avenue in NYC for seeing the doctors. The liver surgeon Dr. D'Angelica said all went well with surgery and the nurse took out my staples and it is much more comfortable. I did not have to make another follow-up appointment with him at this time.
I then went to Dr. Kemeney in the same area. She is the infusion pump specialist. The doctor started me on my first chemo treatent with the pump and it is so much easier-the nurse just puts the chemo drug called Floxuridine in a syringe and puts it in the pump and it only takes 10-15 mts. I will also get another drug called Avistatine (Not sure of the spelling.),I assume it willa be given to me on the next chemo. I of course have to watch out for side effects which I keep praying don't happen. My next appointment will be 10-5 and then 10-19-every two weeks for chemo. All in all I got goof reports. They took a lot of blood, and even a urine sample.
The only thing I am not so thrilled about is that every two weeks when I see my oncologist Dr. Chung, I will have to have an MRI. I don't mind them, but my right arem always gets very numb from having to raise it above my head while I lie on the table for about an hour!!! I will keep you ladies posted as usual. Hugs to all from me in Brooklyn NY.
