Keep a bottle of water in your hot car for a few weeks. (This only works in the summer when the temp. in your car can climb to 120 degrees) Taste the water. It is terrible, really terrible with a taste that thinks you have been poisoned.
In Suffolk county, Long Island, the bottles have either been banned, or talk about banning them. Yes, chemicals do leach from the plastic as the temperature goes up over time. It is obvious from the taste test. Just because water is warm is no reason it should taste foul.
