I was diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer about a month ago (from what I hear, I one of the blessed ones). They’ve done two biopsies only one showed cancer. I’ve lost two close friends to breast cancer and I really done want the worry or stress of it returning. I know everyone is different but because of this I’ve always said that I would elect for a double mastectomy if ever diagnose. Am I being too aggressive? I’m currently at the point of making a decision on my reconstruction. I have three options (saline implants, silicone implants or the Tram flap) I’m really considering the TRAM flap but a little nervous about the surgery time, recovery time and what to expect in the future (especial about losing weight since the breast is the first place you lose at). Has anyone had this procedure? What was your recovery time? Do you have any regrets? Is there a reason why you chose this procedure instead of implants?
