Surfjet Hull repair

Hello,

I will be doing some fibreglass repairs on my father in law's surfjet. Just wondering can the hull be split so I can do the repairs from the inside? It looks like it is two sections with a seam line, but just want to make sure before I start cutting. Also my guess is that it is filled with foam and how common is it for this foam to get waterlogged?
