(This seems to be logical, as it reaches better there, but I forgot to mark them and want to be sure) 4.) There doesn't seem to be too much movement in the throttle...approx. 3/4 to 1" at the handle.....(it can't move any more at the carb). How much should the red handle push in (in inches)?.....(The guy told me that when you crank it up, you have to hold on to it w/ both hands or it will take off w/out you! I had wondered if someone had messed w/ the throttle.) 5.) What type of fluid is that that goes in the little throttle reservoir? hydraulic fluid? How full should it be? 6.) How much does it cost to have the parts glass bead blasted for extra speed? (I may not need this, but just in case!) 7.) If anyone has them...I need the red handle that controls the throttle. I am thinking about milling one out of solid alum or acrylic, but I thought I'd ask first how much they are. And how much for the black casing that surrounds it? (I did look at the parts list, but wasn't sure what it was called or didn't see it) I hope to strip it all down this winter and give it some new fiberglass and a new paint job...like white w/ blue flames or vise versa...but for now, I'm just itchin' to ride! I appreciate any response! you can email me at liddellliddell@yahoo.com (use subject: "surfjet")

Quick story.....my landlord's son had two Surf Jets back in the 80's. One got raided for parts to fix the other over the years, and the other (a 1984 model) was given to a family friend at a nearby lake. He gave me the incomplete one last year, which I passed on to a "super-fixit-guy-type" buddy in Georgia. His wife had a baby, so the Surf Jet came back to Alabama. Then, at my urging, my landlord asked his 65-ish year old buddy at the lake if he still rode it. He said "no" and that I could have it! "It ran great 2 years ago." he said. So, after 8 yellow jacket stings to the guy giving me the board (we "found" a nest while getting it out of the garage) I now had both boards back in Bama from whence they came. I drained the gas tank, removed the plugs, and patched some cracks yesterday. This weekend or next week I'm hoping to get her going.....I had some questions that I hope you might could answer.....
1.) What is the spark plug gap for this model?
