I've refoamed 1 of mine with closed cell foam.the board was split along the seam.befor you split the board try this.use a hole saw about 1 inch diameter(the guy refoaming will drill about 10 of these anyway to releave the stress the foam makes)dig out a piece of foam and pour gas on it.does it melt away to nothing?if so spray gas into your unsplit board to remove the foam.does it work?
: Todd,
: I have a similar problem.. I purchased a
: board to restore and mine has a split along
: the seam.. I was goin to open it up here.
: One thing I'm wondering I can lift the board
: by myself.. I'm thinking that maybe its not
: waterlogged afterall.. it there a way to be
: sure before cutting!

: I have noticed that ther eare possibly 2
: schools of thought on re-foaming a SurfJet.
: I have a 275ss, and was going to restore it
: this winter. Should I split the board in
: half along the factory seam, or should I cut
: through the top of the board and dig out the
: foam...
