For me it was the part about playing an athletic teen on a Disney show.
The teeny bopper fans (or the majority of them) hate finding out that the actors or actresses that play their favourite perfect TV characters are doing things that their TV alter-egos would never think of doing. They struggle with the fact that someone that they love and admire might defile themselves in a way that they have been told is very bad. Especially in pictures like this, where a pack in simply held, they try to explain away the presence of cigarettes as "not belonging to them".
I, however, find it really entertaining...
