You'd be surprised at the number of Medicos that smoke.
So it could be depending on who she hangs with on her breaks, she may start again, or not quit in the first place.
I suppose the smoking is a side issue, it's simply a lifestyle choice, there are deeper issues here, and you need to sort those out yourself, but look at it this way, even if she does quit, surely there is something with which the perceived void can be filled. Looking at it another way is the fetish really such a big part of the relationship, or are you just letting yourself think that it is?
To me, her reasoning is a bit off, she's quitting to fit in with the sheeple. That's just my opinion, best not repeat it as bluntly as I've written it, if at all.
And of course there are situations when smoking is pretty much mandatory. You could engineer your lifestyles to make those situations more frequent.
I'll shut up and wobble off into the shadows.
