I have weird feelings about this. You see, I'm a non-smoker, and yet I've been obsessed with beautiful women smoking on TV, in movies, and especially in cigarette ads, since I was a little kid. I remember the models appearing in the Virginia Slims ads (as well as those for Misty and Capri, among others) being so beautiful. Yet at the same time, I find it so sad whenever I see pretty women smoking, and not just for the obvious reasons. Smoking is so nasty in real life-it gives you bad breath, yellow teeth and wrinkles. Not pleasant at all. So while these fictionalized images give me quite a boner, they also make me very sad.
