I read this post and recalled someone I met when I first came to the States. She is quite lovely. Perhaps "angelic" in appearance would be an apt description. She also possesses a somewhat raspy voice blended with a southern accent. In reference to the latter, others would often invite her to accompany them outside to smoke. She also received what she described as "gentle scoldings" from some informing her that such a sweet and attractive woman shouldn't smoke. She doesn't smoke. It never appealed to her to do so. Her voice isn't the result of damage or injury. It is simply her voice. Appearances can be deceiving even when they offer evidence that may lead one to a conclusion.
