I read about a study that was published in April issue of "Motivation and Emotion" by DR. Hertenstein that seems to be pertinent here. it found that after less than half a min of interaction or just viewing a photo, scientists can make accurate perdictions about others sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, teaching ability and personality. When i read this i immediately thought about the ability to predict if someone is a smoker. Like most posters here and other places, I am seldom surprised when i see or meet someone and find out their smoking status - perhaps there are some subtle and not so subtle clues we pick up on.
