Hi Lynne,
It sounds like your BF has a Smoking Fetish, or at the very least, a mild attraction to smoking...so why don't you just talk to him about it? Does he smoke? What about the friend of your BF who referred you to this forum?
If you search YouTube or Google video for "smoking french inhale" and for "smoking snap inhale", you will turn up endless examples for you to watch and study. And then you just need to practice, either by yourself in front of a mirror, or with a friend who can do the type of inhales that you'd like to do.
I'd still be very interested to get your reaction to this earlier message.
