Interesting.
If it's true, grapes would probably have a similar effect, as would any fruit or vegetable rich in antioxidants.
I also remember hearing about a study a few years ago that speculated that green tea offers significant cancer prevention benefits. The statistical example cited was Japanese men, who drink a lot of green tea, and who have one of the highest smoking rates in the world, but who have one of the lowest lung cancer rates among heavy smoking populations.
Eating and drinking well almost certainly has implications for at least somewhat offsetting the free radicals and other carcinogens in cigarette smoke.
But a Risk is still a Risk, after all...
