Marcus and I have both been utterly swamped lately and unable to participate as much as we’d like, but having the day off, I thought I take a moment to reply to the current header image.
M G F
I place the cigarette between my lips and draw the smoke into my mouth, savoring its taste and taking pleasure in the familiar sting at the back of my throat as I inhale. My lungs inflate with the toxic gas as I pack it into their darkest depths.
I let it linger a while.
Cells change, tissue stiffens, alveolar walls distend, cilia die. I exhale and watch the smoke leave my body, knowing something remains inside of me deep within my chest.
It hurts a little. Every time. I like that.
That’s why I do it.
