BTW, Vesperae,
I am not going to out and out take offense,
no,
but I will disagree with your observation and suggestion made from the observation.
I think that in order to surmise that seeing myself as a misfit or an outcast is familiar ground for me, you really have to have more information than you have.
It's almost like, if you were a scientist, you would need many more trials from which to make a prediction.
Well, you aren't a scientist (though you do come off as exceedingly smart often!
), and seeing myself as an outcast or misfit is not quite familiar to me.
I will admit that I am in many ways, beyond my smoking fetish, 'different' than many folks - without a doubt.
I see this as a good thing for the most part.
It allows me to maintain my edge against many forms of potential complacency that often go with 'fitting in' and being too comfortable.
Now if you were to talk about the Hey Now of old, maybe 10+ years ago, you wouldn't be too far off...
I have done much good work with my 'self' over the years.
Not work to necessarily 'fit in', but work to find where in all this mess (our society) I am situated.
So, no, you didn't nail it there, not this time.
Sorry.
I hope you don't think I am being combative, as I am not.
I am merely saying you need more info. I am calling you on that one.
Your suggestion might have been more accurate with a much more simplistic person.
Sorry Charlie, we don't want tunas with good taste, we want tunas that taste good.
One's that smoke too![]()
