You certainly have a Word Fetish, don't you? That's something that we share.
I am always deeply intrigued by any creative expression about smoking (especially from a non-SF author), because regardless of what it is, or what form it takes, it presents a self-portrait of the artist that indicates a depth of thought and an intimate personal focus on smoking. She/he is saying: "Smoking is such a significant part of my life and Identity that I want to share it with you..."
And that's really charming to me.
