Posted by vesperae There is obviously a continuum of ideation involved in thinking about the *Risks* of smoking, and it would seem that you prefer to focus your thinking on the most extreme and Dark end. While I intend no criticism of you with this observation, I do want to point out that expressing the most extreme and Dark end of the *Risk* fantasy continuum can have the unfortunate tendency to push those attempting to understand the more Sublime aspects of an attraction to smoking back into denial over having it in the first place. So, to John, or to anyone else out there reading this discussion who happens to have conflicted feelings similar to John - Pete's interests are somewhat uniquely his (and I respect his individuality and ask that you respect it as well), but you should also know that they don't have to be yours, and thinking about the Darker implications of having an attraction to smoking won't automatically lead you to Pete's particular fantasy perspective.
