Posted by Jason on April 19, 2007, 9:42 am, in reply to "Re: Memories of “Smoking By Denise”" I have never smoked so this subject is a mystery to me. I do not know these feelings, cravings, or sensations. Sometimes I think not smoking has increased my fascination with the subject.
I always assumed it was the seduction, but now that you ask I realize the denial aspect is also exciting to me. Even if everyone is taught that nicotine is addictive, many social smokers or new smokers do have a "it could never happen to me" attitude. As they smoke more and more I imagine they hang on to the denail for as long as possible as they lose control.
