Posted by Rachel Anyway, my reason for posting this particular response was to let you know that just yesterday afternoon, I found out that no less than two of my female neighbours in my apartment building have cancer! Both are heavy smokers, same as myself, though they are also both older (one is 50 and the other is at least 55 though looks 60 and possibly is). The older one is nonchalant about the whole thing, she casually told me that she's going for chemo now, even as she accepts the proffered cigarette and lights it up while telling me, inhaling deeply as always (!). She went on to talk about how she disliked the way the other woman was "whining" about having cancer now (!!). Needless to say, that's a kick in the pants for them both, but the older one as I said hasn't even thought about cutting down, she's smoking away as usual heavy and regularly. The good news from my point of view (what a horrible thing to say, lol, but I'm gonna say it anyway) is that with the two of them having cancer now, the statistical odds of my getting it just went way down, in my favor! So I am celebrating with an expensive cup of coffee and (what else) a cigarette Fondly, Rachel

Hi Pete - as a female who smokes fairly heavily, I often use mental visualization techniques to reinforce the strong belief that I am well, healthy, and that no serious harm will ever come to me from smoking or anything for that matter. Though, contarily, I also quite often enjoy the darkside aspects, i.e. thinking about the health damage I'm doing to myself and the "bad girl" aspect of smoking, etc etc... ![]()
. Thanks as always for your posts, Pete *smooch*.![]()
