I have long maintained that most smokers are aware on some level that many people are attracted and stimulated by their smoking. For some it may simply be that it involves the mouth and inserting something into the body, for others it may be that the appearance of a smoker fits some sort of mold that they associate with physical attractiveness; for some of us, though, it is much deeper and complex. Your comments about your girlfriend’s reaction to the senior citizens gym are intriguing. It sounds as if you assume that her saying she wouldn’t get there indicates that she believes that she will not fall prey to the effects of her dangerous little vice. Could it be, though, that she was expressing her acceptance of the fact that, as a smoker, she is slowly destroying her body and has accepted that Risk? I tend to believe that every smoker is acutely aware of what he/she is doing, but has just enough denial, bravado, call it what you will, to counter that awareness and allow them to continue to enjoy their deadly activity.
Some interesting reflections, Pete, thanks for sharing them. As you know, my relationship with my girlfriend and her smoking is somewhat different because I am a smoker and she shares our fetish; but there are similarities. The difference is that when I quietly facilitate her smoking, she knows I am doing so and that it is because I find her appearance, as she places her cigarette between her lips and draws just a little more death into her lungs _Very_ alluring. She knows I find the Risk she is taking, and the ever so gradually building effects of her actions to be exciting in a very sensual way. Of course, she shares the same attraction. For me, part of what I find so attractive about M G F being a smoker is that she embraces the Risk she is taking and damage she is doing.
