Posted by vesperae Underage - younger than the above. 1) Autobiographical descriptions of your own underage smoking. 2) Autobiographical descriptions of the underage smoking of others, if you were underage during the time that you are describing. 3) Autobiographical descriptions of the underage smoking of others, if you were “of age”, but no more than 4 years apart in age during the time that you are describing. 1) Explicit descriptions of underage sexual activity, autobiographical or fictional. Autobiographical “PG-13” descriptions of “PG-13” underage sexual activity are allowed, as long as you follow the same age restrictions for descriptions of underage smoking in the “allowed” section above. If the content and language of your remarks would be O.K. in a high school “Health Class” film on emerging sexuality, it would be O.K. here. Additionally, autobiographical “PG-13” descriptions of being the recipient of sexual abuse are allowed, as long as the descriptions are directly relevant to the developmental aspects of your relationship with smoking, and as long as the descriptions are not primarily intended as entertainment of a sexual nature. 2) Fictional or autobiographical descriptions of underage smoking that are primarily intended for the entertainment of a Smoking Fetish audience. "Of age" smoking descriptions are completely exempt from this restriction. 3) Links to any media files that depict underage smoking produced with a Smoking Fetish audience in mind. "Cigarette smoking is a behavior replete with social symbolism, because we all – smokers and nonsmokers alike – recognize on some fundamental level that in order to become a smoker, you have to be willing to intentionally transform your body into doing something that nature didn’t intend for it to do. To smoke publicly is to state to the world that you have completed a particular rite of passage and physical transformation that only certain others have, and to declare that you have made a decision to indulge your psychological needs to the detriment of your physical needs. "Cigarette advertising has certainly created a rich and fascinating Mythology of Smoking over the years, and social modeling and the desire to belong to a particular group also obviously play substantial roles in the attractiveness of smoking for many. "But underlying all other motivations is the persistent awareness that to smoke is to do something that is willfully dangerous and risky. For some smokers, this awareness may be buried by layers of denial and rationalization and become purely subconscious. But for many smokers, this persistent awareness not only remains important to their attraction to smoking, it is essential to the complex and psychologically dark romance that makes cigarette smoking absolutely unique among all of the sensual pleasures that a human being can experience." B) "I think I know what you're talking about, and it completely turns me off. " D) "I think I understand what you're talking about, and I have very mixed feelings about it." E) "I understand what you're talking about, and here is my take on it." However, anyone who meets the minimum age requirement is welcome to read this forum, and your reaction to the ideas discussed here may change after you spend some time reading through the comments and thinking about them. This is not a “General Smoking Fetish Forum”, nor do I conceive of it as even being specifically a Smoking Fetish Forum, although I realize that the vast majority of participants here will have some significant sexual aspect to their attractions to smoking. I will be the first to admit that the topic range here is bound to be seen as esoteric and peripheral by some, and that’s just fine as far as I'm concerned. I have no interest in duplicating what has already been done and said many times before in the content of the many other wonderful and interesting smoking-themed sites and discussion forums elsewhere. What I am interested in is providing a place a little off the beaten path, where we can talk about "the complex and psychologically dark romance" that makes cigarette smoking a Sublime ("Darkly Beautiful”) Desire, for those of us who haven’t had a place to talk about these ideas in the depth that I am interested in doing so, as well as for those who have an interest in exploring these ideas. I believe that these ideas deserve a place all their own, and I am hoping that this is a place where a variety of people will feel comfortable discussing them. And in my desire to provide a comfortable place for people to discuss these ideas, I will, if need be, delete any messages that I deem to be either off topic or diversionary. I certainly take no pleasure in deleting anyone's message, and in fact frankly hate to do it, but it is the only solution for a forum that I want to remain public, and at the same time focused on the type of discussions that this place was created specifically for. Thank You for your understanding, and for taking the time to read this. * * * * *vesperae

“Of age” - at least 18 years old, or of legal age to smoke cigarettes in your jurisdiction, whichever is older.
Allowed:
Not Allowed:
and at the Moderator’s sole discretion.
This is an excerpt from my introductory message to the forum:
"No one is born with a craving to inhale cigarette smoke, and what is more, until shortly before the decision is made to try smoking, virtually everyone is repulsed by cigarette smoke. Every new smoker who aspires to become a “real” smoker has to overcome her innate self-preservation instincts. She has to force her respiratory tract to accept being repeatedly saturated with a toxic, irritating cloud of poisons. She has to keep forcing cigarette smoke deeper and deeper into her lungs until she eventually strangles her cough reflex. She has to coerce her body into functioning as normally as possible with nicotine and carbon monoxide constantly flooding her bloodstream.
Which of the following best describes your reaction to the comments above:
A) “I have no idea what you're talking about."
If either “A” or “B” best describe your reaction, please do not post...at least not yet. ![]()
C) "I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I am interested in trying to understand what you're talking about."
If “C”, “D”, or “E” best describe your reaction, please do post! This forum was created for you! ![]()
