So as not to unduely alarm anyone, I should point out that my Mom was 81, didn't quit smoking until she was in her early 70s, then resumed smoking a few years ago over the stress of watching her husband suffer during his final months; which she continued for about 2 years, finally quitting again about a year before she passed. So I do not believe any of us here are in any imminent, immediate danger... but just keep in mind the best way to avoid emphysema and probably lung cancer is to quit before you reach your golden years.
