I understand both sides of the aisle here and their positions of whether to support BG or not. You can support the person while not condoning the act. What appalls me is that the first paragraph of Lt. Col. Harris's e-mail is a veiled threat to those that wish to support BG.
It isn't saying you can't, but the "strongly discourage" verbiage sends the message he wants to convey. I don't condone BG's behavior but I also don't believe he should be abandoned by his friends.
Lt. Col. Harris needs to consider BG's position because he could very soon be feeling the same heat. I just hope he doesn't take a bunch of coppers down with him.
