While talking about an officer currently on the hot seat, one of our upper command rank officers made the comment "You just can't do real police work anymore, the department won't let you."
I reminded him that he is one of the decision makers for the department. The people who won't let us work is him and others of his rank.
All you commanders who refuse to tell it like it is, this is your fault. Those of you who influence and shape our department policy, this is your fault. You too used to make fun of small paul and DH, but remember, they have an excuse. They were never policemen to begin with so when they make a stupid decision about police work, they don't know any better. You others were policemen who forgot. All of this is your fault for not standing up and doing what is right.
I think I lost a friend over this comment but it is true.
