Fiona nodded in agreement.
The automatic doors at the entrance opened, but as Carl stepped inside, the doors closed against his feet.
"Flaming Heck!" he said in alarm, pushing the doors to free himself, "Modern technology - d**ned lot of rubbish! And flamin' well dangerous too!"
"Okay," said the receptionist, "just take a seat, Doctor Smith will see you in a minute"
"well there's a first!" said Carl with a sarcastic laugh.
Receptionist "he'll be here shortly - ah, here he is."
Fiona waited in the waiting room, reading a magazine.
"My baby!" she screams.
She calkls an ambulance,
"Oh my God!" she shouts down the phone, "I've killed my baby! Somebody help me!"
"Mrs Riverside," he says queitly, "I'm afraid your husband has just had an heart attack. We have managed to start his heart again, but I'm sorry, we can't ay for sure if he'll pull through."
"Will he die?" asked Fiona, tears filling her eyes.
"Well," replied Doctor Smith, "That may well be a possibility. We can't say for certain that he'll live. He could die tomorrow. I'm sorry."
