You've gotta love the modern era. "My amp needs a firmware update." Well...sorry you are having this issue. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that whether you get the unit working properly, or whether you part with it, this is probably not an exercise in vain. Sometimes I've explored different ways of doing things and encountered technical frustrations only to go back to the "simpler" ways of the past. If all it does is foster a renewed sense of satisfaction with your other gear, then that's really not a bad thing. Yet if the new technology does what you want, that's a win-win. Good luck as always.
