Thanks to Slim's management for allowing us to finally reveal his legendary tone secrets, which to this point, have been kept closely guarded in a vault along with the secret recipes for Tang and the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices. After a failed attempt at a court injunction, they have come around to our way of thinking.
Thanks also to the legend himself for threatening us with litigation over the revelation of these secrets. Our attorneys were able to successfully deflect his attempt to prevent this from being posted. He shoulda known that you can't defend yourself based upon knowledge gained from years of "The People's Court" he has stored on Beta. It was over the moment our guys walked in wearing their black suits and carrying their snakeskin attaches. Meanwhile, Slim comes in looking more like Rusty the Bailiff than the iconic guitar hero he used to be back during his days in the Starland Vocal Band.
So without further delay, here are the tricks that Slim used in his extinguished career for many of his classic recordings and concerts, along with some rare behind-the-scenes pictures that prior to now, have only been viewed on the Internet.
Slim's renowned "Brownie" guitar:
The key to Slim's clean tones:
Slim's handwired amp:
Slim's Custom Pedalboard:
Slim's power supply:
The famous "Despair Force One" which transported Slim to the big shows in Cumberland County.
Me and Slim back in the good old days.
An early photo of Smokin' Slim when he was only 12 years old. You could just tell he was destined for stardom even back then.
Slim, back in 1999 before he became the official spokesman for the Quizno's diet.
And finally, Slim today. Back in action and ready to reclaim his legacy with a vengeance.
