The comdeian would tell his audience, "Guess who I saw in a loooooong car today?. Why a person of no importance!" Later the Gestapo had words with the comedian, who quickly changed the answer to "Why, a National Socialist!" Philipp said everyone knew the comedian was referring to Goring and Hitler." That guy was lucky he didn't end up in a camp! People wonder why Goring never fell from grace. The things he promised were unrealistic, but the luftwaffe still did an outstanding job against (in the end) impossible odds. Hitler's belief in unwavering loyalty extended, not only upwards (toward himself) but also downwards, at least as far as his inner circle of Himmler Goring Goebbels and Bormann...
