If we look back and see how many German troops who were fighting inside a cauldron (Kessel), came out and received a Shield, but also those who - like Narvik - received one - why shouldn't there be one for the soldiers of the 6th Army, who fought in Stalingrad. Not only they held out for so long, but also long enough to have Kleist come back out of the Caucasus. The German soldier who survived Stalingrad - though captured - if you don't count the ones flown out, withstood much more than the ones at the Krim, Narvik, etc. So in my opinion even today, those tough men do deserve their shield!
