Prior to the Benghazi Select Committee being convened, seven Congressional committees and a State Department Accountability Review Board conducted inquires into the attack. Most recently, a two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees
Four people died in the Benghazi attack.
That was it. A two month investigation and it was over and done with. No grandstanding, no rip-off of the taxpayer, no casting of blame for crass political purposes.
Sadly for America, Reagan was subsequently re-elected and is now considered a saint by Republicans, who somehow seem to have a knack for developing collective amnesia when it comes to the Gipper's failings, or the failings of any Republican for that matter. Many more people died in Reagan's Benghazi, but you would never know that by listening to the politically motivated propaganda being spewed by Republicans.
By the way, it shouldn't go unmentioned that within hours after the Benghazi attack, Republicans were using the loss of American lives to produce campaign fundraising ads in a shameless, immoral, and vile display of despicable behavior that is typical of today's Republicans. What right do scumbags like that have to pass judgement on anyone?
I look forward to Hillary's appearance before the select committee on Oct 22, where I fully expect her and the Democratic members of the committee to rip Trey Gowdy and his fellow inquisitors a new one ... and I hope it hurts.
