All about the chemistry man. Monster truck tires can be flat at times, but they can always be fixed. You pull one of those members out of the band and you get albums like "You've Got to Believe in Something", which is still good, but the Eric sound is not there. When someone that is so integral to the band leaves, you might as well call it quits:
: :
: So, I don't want to start a whole big
: controversy or anything (OK, maybe I do) ...
: but what do you guys think the Spins would
: sound like if Eric did most of the writing
: and singing rather than Chris? More stuff
: like Genuine and less stuff like My Problem
: Now. Would that be a good thing or a bad
: thing? Discuss ...
:
: Well, for my taste, I would have to say it
: would be a GREAT thing for the band. Eric's
: guitar work is the main reason I'm into the
: band (although Mark's bass playing is a close
: second). However, the band tried doing the
: darker, harder rocking stuff after PFOK and
: it didn't really catch on. So for the band's
: popularity, Chris' stuff might be more of a
: draw...
: Although the crowd did love Genuine and
: seemed to like the more rocking new songs
: too. I didn't see anyone really getting into
: Happily Ever After.
: So, in conclusion, I don't know what the ####
: I'm talking about.
