I am one of the many many descendants of John Spiers from Pearl River County Mississippi. I am descended from his son, John "Pocket" Spiers. Pocket's daughter Sarah Victoria Spiers married Andy Lee Livings and had my great grandfather, Sardon Livings, who married Clara Lou Burton.
Can anyone tell me anything at all about Sarah V. Spiers? She died when my great grandfather was only about 7 years old, so no one in the family really knew anything about her. I would love to see a picture or her and any of the John Pocket Spiers family.
Does anyone know where the "Pocket" name came from? Is that his real middle name, or a nickname?
And finally, has anyone finally positively identified the parents of the original John Spiers? Is it Archibald? And who was his mother?
