G'day Basil
Take it you are in NZ. We have just moved and I don't think I would have any further information. My goal at the time was to establish any planemaking connections. However, always interested. Not sure whether we can contact each other directly. I'm in Melbourne in Victoria.
I'd try the various Census returns, and BMD records.
Cheers
Nigel

: Hi Nigel
: I dont know if this is our Margaret
: Spiers that is why I am looking for
: something after 1851.
: Our Margaret arrived in New Zealand
: in 1861 this is calculated from her
: death certificate 1912 and 51 years
: in NZ.
: Margaret was born in Ayr in Scotland
: in 1835 this is calculated from her
: death certificaye 1912 and aged 77
: years.
: This is verified by OPR Birth and
: Baptisms
: which gives her birth as 22/11/1834
: at St Quivox, Ayr, Scotland.
: At her marriage to our Great
: Grandfather she gave her name as
: Margaret Young in 1865 in NZ.
