I believe there may be a connection to the family. From what I can tell, Archibald's brother and sister stayed in Virginia when the war started to manage the family holdings. I am trying to establish a connection. I can follow the Archibald Spiers family well down to the war, when most of the records of the business ended up in Jamaica, since they switched from selling tobacco in Virgina to running rum in via Jamaica.
