Hugh Montgomery Captain John Speere/Speire of Hodgsons Scottish Regiment of Horse (ca.1585- 1649) "Will proved Londonderry" Accompanied Sir. Thomas James Montgomery to Ulster in 1610 retired 1614. Married and immigrated to Ireland, Lived/settling in 1614 at Kinnaird (now Caledon), Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Northern Ireland1614. Attained 1618 Alexander Sperre/Speire d. 1669, a "servitor" to Sir. Hugh Montgomery of Braidstone. Settled at Gray Abbey, South Co. Down. Letters of Denization 1617 (wrote account of funeral of Sir. Hugh Montgomery, 8 Sept 1630, Public Record office of Northern Ireland PRONI D/627/1 card # M-653)
