We've had family memberships to Hogle Zoo, Living Planet Aquarium, Discovery Museum at The Gateway, Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point, and Tracy Aviary (not all at the same time!). Depending on the season and our kids' ages, one or two of those was a great thing to have. I liked having one indoor-type pass and one outdoor-type pass (like, to the zoo and the dinosaur museum) so we were covered for any weather.
There are also some great deals on other places so you can try them out and see what you think. The Natural History museum by the U has a free day one day a month, and the aquarium pass gets you into the Tracy Aviary one day a month for free too.
Other good activities -- and free -- are the water fountains at Liberty Park and the exhibits at the Planetarium (at The Gateway).
And many neighborhoods have a local recreation center or at least one close by.
We moved here a few years ago and I've been amazed at the amount of activities there are for families. Welcome!
